I threw myself within a story
to soothe my wounded soul.
I learned to live within a book
to hide my pains true toll.
I soared amongst the characters
as if on my own wings.
Never before in my life
had I seen such beauteous things.
The joy, it filled my heart to burst
my life it filled with glee.
I felt like I had found my place
with wondrous compa
